Elevate Coffee Lab is a modern specialty coffee bar in Amsterdam founded by coffee expert and roaster Ahmad Alshikh. Built around craftsmanship, experimentation and transparency, the concept offers a refined coffee experience inspired by both specialty coffee culture and fine dining standards. Founder Ahmad Alshikh began his journey in coffee more than twelve years ago in Syria, where traditional bitter coffee was the standard and sugar was often essential. After moving to the Netherlands, his perspective on coffee completely changed while working in cafés and following professional coffee courses. There, he discovered the complexity of specialty coffee through different origins, processing methods and flavour profiles that opened up an entirely new world. Before opening Elevate Coffee Lab, Ahmad worked as Head Roaster at Keen Coffee, where he further developed his expertise in roasting, extraction techniques, sourcing and relationships with coffee farmers around the world. Over the years, the dream of creating his own coffee concept continued to grow, eventually leading to the opening of Elevate Coffee Lab in October 2024 after more than six years of development. At Elevate Coffee Lab, the focus lies on delivering high quality and consistent coffee experiences while constantly exploring new flavours and brewing techniques. The café works with a rotating coffee menu that changes every six to eight weeks, featuring carefully selected beans and collaborations with guest roasters from different regions and coffee cultures. Transparency and storytelling play a central role within the concept.
