About
Located in the creative NDSM district in Amsterdam North is the STRAAT Museum, an impressive museum entirely dedicated to street art and graffiti. Since its opening in 2020, it has become one of the city’s most unique art venues. The museum is housed in a massive former welding shed and displays over 180 artworks by more than 170 international artists. The works are often gigantic and created specifically for the space, making for a unique experience. In addition to the permanent collection, there are regular temporary exhibitions featuring emerging talent. There’s also plenty to see outside, such as the famous Anne Frank mural by Eduardo Kobra. The STRAAT Museum is not only one of the largest street art museums in the world, but is also located in the lively and alternative NDSM shipyard. An extra special fact: the building used to be part of the IJ-hallen, once the largest flea market in Europe.
